Historically, JLC is renowned for their remarkable technological advances including 430 registered patents and 1,300 individual calibers. Jaeger LeCoultre is one of the rare manufacturers to employ a full range of master watchmaking professionals, allowing them to produce their own creations from design to production in house. Its founder, Antoine LeCoultre, started his illustrious workshop history by inventing a machine that could cut watch pinions from steel. Shortly thereafter, LeCoultre created the instrument capable of measuring time the most precisely in the world. This Millionmetre machine was the first capable of measuring the micron which enabled watch parts to be manufactured more precisely than ever before.
